Overview
A glass roof turns an otherwise enclosed interior — a courtyard, corridor, or stairwell — into a light-filled space connected to the sky. Barakah fabricates and installs glass roofing from simple pyramid skylights to large-format structural glass panels on bespoke aluminium or steel sub-frames.
All overhead glass is laminated so that any breakage stays in place, and drainage is integrated into the framing from the outset to prevent water ingress.

Frequently asked questions
Does glass roofing make a room too hot in direct sun?
It can without the right glass spec — we use solar-control and low-e coatings on sun-facing glass roofs specifically to manage heat gain.
Can you walk on a glass roof?
Only if it's specified as walk-on glass — a thicker, multi-layer laminated build rated for foot traffic. Standard overhead glazing isn't designed to be walked on.
How is a glass roof kept from leaking at the edges?
Integrated gutters and drainage are built into the supporting frame from the design stage, not added after installation.
