Overview

Georgian bar windows overlay a grid of slim bars onto the glass, recreating the classic multi-pane look of period sash windows while keeping the thermal and security performance of a modern aluminium frame.

We fit Georgian bar detailing to sliding, casement, or fixed window systems, matching the bar pattern and spacing to the building’s existing architecture or the client’s design brief.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are Georgian bars just stuck onto the glass, or are they structural?

We offer both. Surface-applied bars sit on top of a single glazed unit and are the more affordable option; true divided-light bars separate the glass into genuinely separate panes for a more authentic period look, at extra cost.

Can Georgian bars be added to double glazing?

Yes — surface-applied bars can sit on either side of a double-glazed unit, or be set within the cavity between the two panes for a cleaner look that's also easier to clean.

Will the bar pattern match my existing windows?

We can match the spacing and grid pattern to whatever's already on the building, or work from a reference photo or drawing if you're matching a heritage or neighbouring property.
